Answering customers who do not share your language

Somebody lands on your site with a question and no language in common with you. Most of the time they leave. This is the shortest way to keep them.

How it works

One line of HTML puts a bubble in the corner of your pages. Somebody presses it, gives a name, and is writing to you. What they send arrives in your language and what you send arrives in theirs.

They make no account and install nothing. The conversation happens on your own domain, so nobody is sent anywhere they did not choose to go.

What a visitor meets, on the shop's own domain. A name, a language, and they are writing to you.

Public or private

The bubble comes two ways, decided when you make the room, and it is worth choosing on purpose. Public puts everybody who presses it in the same conversation, where they can read each other: right for questions anybody could ask in front of anybody, and wrong for everything else.

Private gives every visitor a room of their own, so nobody reads anybody else. Use it for anything somebody would rather say once, to you. They come back to the same room next time, so a question answered on Tuesday is still there on Thursday.

Public is one conversation to watch. Private is a list of them.

You do not have to watch the page

Turn notifications on in the room and your browser tells you when somebody writes, with the tab closed. Nobody is left typing into an empty room while you are doing something else.

With a private bubble you are told as soon as somebody opens a room, and again when they write, with nothing to set up. There was no room to set up until they pressed it.

Install Cross Convo and the number of conversations waiting on you sits on the app icon. You can see there is one without opening anything.

You can also set a line the room says while you are away, so somebody writing at eleven at night knows when an answer is coming.

A message that arrives while you are away is still there when you come back, translated, with the time on it. There is nothing to catch in the moment.

The things you say every day

Opening times, where you are, how long delivery takes: pin it to the top of the room and it sits above the conversation for everybody who opens it, instead of being typed again each morning.

And when somebody asks what you told a customer three weeks ago, search the room in your own language. What they wrote in theirs is found by the words you read it in.

A pin and a search belong to one room. On a public bubble that is the whole conversation. On a private one, each visitor starts a fresh room, so your pinned notice is not above theirs and a search covers only the room you are in.

The answers you repeat do follow you. Keep one and it is a tap away in every room, in whatever language the person wrote in.

What it costs to run

Your visitors pay nothing and are asked for nothing. What they send is counted against your own allowance, which is 1,500 messages a month on Premium, and they are never asked for a card or an account.

The bubble is a small script and the room is not loaded until somebody presses it, so a page carrying this is not a page carrying a chat app.
